Hostel Ka'beh Cancun in Cordoba, Mexiko

Small, dirty, cheap hostel.No security, anyone can enter, it's always open, you don't even receive a key.Mattress, sheets and pillow very cheap and uncomfortable.No hot water in the shower.We needed to wake up at 6 to go to the airport but couldn't sleep because almost everyone decide to party AT the hostel instead of going out. If all you want to do is get drunk at the hostel and do nothing else, it just might be the hostel for you.If not, AVOID at all cost.

Our Hostel *IS* small, we only have 16 beds. It's a microHostel by many accounts. ••• It is not spotless, but we do our best to help our clients keep the Hostel clean. ••• Our Hostel does not specifically have *security* but we have staff on the clock 24/7, so not just anyone can walk into the Hostel. We limit the Hostel building to clients, or walk-in interested clients *only*. We do NOT give clients keys as there is always a reception staff on duty, therefor a key is unnecessary. ••• Hot water should always be on. If you, or anyone else ever has a problem, let the staff know, and they will make sure it is indeed on. ••• The Hostel common area should *NOT* affect those who wish to sleep in the dorms. ••• We apologize for your poor experience at our Hostel, but I urge you, and future clients to talk to staff when you are unsatisfied with something. PROS: -REALLY good location.5 min walk from ADO main loop in DT Cancun -REALLY friendly, out-going staff members -One of the biggest bang for your buck hostels in Cancun CONS: -No hot showers, except for one night (for some reason...) -VERY HARD to sleep when people are partying 'till 4am almost every other night -Sometimes it's not 24/7 reception like they say it is, so when I checked out, I couldn't get my original deposit back...not a lot of money lost...but it still kinda sucks.. I dont know how it got on the Lonely Planet's list. But seriously, only 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms!!!! The bed, I dont think it reached the basic standard of cleanness . The toilet did not completely flush. And the worst was slow running cool water when you wanted to take a warm shower. It was killing me! The facilities really sucked. The hostel has a sign: Your home away from home. When I arrived I was sure it is just a slogan. After staying there, twice, for a total of 8 nights, I realized it was not just a slogan that is what they actually live up to. What makes it so is its people.Diego is the soul of the place, ever willing and eager to serve. He goes well beyond his normal duties to make this hostel into "your home away from home".
