Hostelling International - Washington DC in Washington DC, United States

I was in DC for a preemployment physical for the government and only there for a night, so all I really needed was a bed for the night. The HIDC fit the bill, but as it happened, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hostel seemed pretty quiet, though I was there mid-week, but there were activities on offer pretty much every day, so I think there was plenty to do for people so inclined. The Hostel was probably one of the better ones I've ever stayed in. One problem however, was the wifi, it broke down on the 2nd day I was there and I dragged my laptop all the way from the other side of the country just to use it. The staff didnt seem particularly bothered about trying to get the matter fixed. Beds are a little bit tought but thats about it.

the beds are too small!!!!!!! I slept very bad for both nights --> when you are 1.91 m tall and the bed is 1.90 m.... the paper machine in the bathroom was very loud and next to the wall of my room I slept --> every time somebody used the machine during the night I got awaked (despite ear plugs)!!!!!

The Hostelling International Washington DC Hostel was fantastic - very clean, very secure, good location, friendly staff, fun people, good breakfast, and it had a lot of fun activities. This hostel was definitely a good experience and a great bargain.

HI Washington is a very clean hostel in a great location. It has some great free activities to facilitate travellers meeting each other. The free breakfast was the best of the 5 hostels i have stayed in so far on this trip to USA. Cinema room is great as is the pool table. All in all I had a great stay here and would definitely return on my next trip to Washington.
