This is not a hostel for everyone. Its like staying in someones very messy and cluttered house. Its located not far from a nice area of DC but not in a nice area itself. It was not for me this hostel, i checked in, walked about a bit around DC and booked myself into the Hostelling International a couple of blocks away for the rest of my time in DC. A bizarre place. Clean but incredibly cluttered. Three cans of paint and spackle were holding up a panel for the apparently broken dish washer -- a microcosm of the house as a whole. It's like spending a few days at your incredibly kind but eccentric grandpa's house. The entire place is one interminable half-finished construction project. Ron's kindness partially makes up the haphazard living arrangements, but only partially. Think twice. BTW, there's another hostel literally NEXT DOOR th Chris, from USA ~ 24th Jan 2010

This was a good hostel but all the guests were Asian so I couldn't really talk to anyone. The only other problem was that they were doing repairs and some parts of the hostel felt like a garage with all the tools and materials just lying in the hallway. However, the essentials like the rooms and bathroom were clean and the staff were nice. Also very close to the attractions of DC. Tom, from Australia ~ 12th Jan 2010

This is the best hostel that I have ever stayed. Ron, the hostel owner, is so nice and helpful. The location is great, it took me about 15 minutes to walk to the National Mall, and less than 5 minites to walk to the Metro station. The house is sweet, and Ron has just bought some games. They offer breakfast, but only coffee and bread, sometimes they have English muffin. They also have refrigerator in every room, a public kitchen, wifi that covers the whole house, and even the hairdry. Jin, from China ~ 24th Dec 2009
