This hostel is best! It is cheap and clean. Every staff is nice. I recommend here!!

Thank God we saw the cochroaches when we left but this place was really dirty. Party hostel if you want to stay up until 5:30 in the morning from screaming guests and even some of the staff. Beware also that this hostel may not recognize bookings from hostels.com because they never refunded us our money as they charged us full price upon arrival instead of the remaining amount. the best thing about this hostel is one thing: they give you a ride to and from the airport...thats it. Hello Tamika & Robert, Thank you for taking the time to make your comments on Hostelworld feedback. We are very sorry you did not enjoy your 1 night's stay here with us at JJ's. We regularly have the hostel treated for insects and pests but unfortunately, due to being situated in the tropics, the occasional cockroach will pass the barriers. I am very sorry for this. JJ's has been established for about 15 years and so we are not brand new. We do have a high level of cleanliness and I assure you everything is cleaned thoroughly every day! I was made aware of the noisey guests upon return to work and immediately dealt with the situation. Sometimes guests do have party nights out and are a little noisey on their return to the hostel. We do have an evening quiet time here at the hostel and this is adhered to very regularly. We also have a Night Manager on site who is employed to deal with these situations should they arise. We always recognise and acknowledge internet bookings and in this instance our receptionist made a mistake when charging you for the night. Please accept my apologies for this. You did book for 1 night for 2 people in a dormitory at our special rate of $20 per person per night. Therefore you paid $4 deposit and $36 was due upon arrival. You actually stayed in an air-conditioned double room which does cost $56 per room per night, which is what you paid. We therefore owe you a refund of $4 which was mistakienly charged when you were here. Please, if you had have mentioned this upon check out, we would have gladly refunded you there and then, absolutely no problem at all. I am happy to refund the $4 onto your credit card. We always appreciate feedback, good or bad, as we will use it constructively and wisely to ever try to improve our little hostel. Thank you & Happy Travels, Tracy

Small - so more personalized - and a bit remote - but you got a shuttle, or you can walk -, but amazingly friendly - the staff is awesome and you only meet interesting people. Good deal - I had not backpacked for years so was a bit hesitant, in the end it was a great experience: I recommend it

we had a great stay at JJ's. It was such good value with the meals included, quirky place in a good location. The staff were really helpful in sorting out tours too.
