Das Hostel liegt 10 Fußminuten vom French Quarter, also einerseits recht zentral, aber noch ruhig genug, um schlafen zu können. Gemütlichkeit ist wichtiger als Party. Familiäre Atmosphäre. Sauberkeit sehr gut in diesem recht alten Haus. Sicherheit OK. Es ist eben ein ärmlicheres Viertel da sollte man wohl nicht dollarschwenkend durch die Gegend ziehen. I have stayed in a lot of different hostels, but Joe & Flo's is definitely one of the best hostels I stopped at! The staff was awesome: very friendly and made me feel at home. I liked the room: very spacious with fridge and TV. Fully equiped kitchen you can share with the other guests. Great location: 6 blocks from the French Quarter (10 minutes walk). I felt safe walking in the neighborhood. Only bad point: only one bathroom for all the male guests. FREE PANCAKES!!!

Great place to stay...very helpful and welcoming.All staff seemed to embody the New Orleans spirit, and were keen to ensure a great time was had but without being too instrusive.

The staff are super friendly, very helpful, and incredibly flexible.The neighbourhood is interesting and women may feel better to take a taxi at night.
We thank our guest for their comments and their stay here at Joe and Flo Old Candlelight Hostel. The Treme neighborhood where the hostel is situated is a unique neighborhood still rebuilding for the 2005 hurricane. Yet this a very diverse neighborhood that is FAR safer than the French Quarters where all the tourist come to New Orleans to visit. As we tell ALL our guest, the criminal minds know that 90 % of persons in the French Quarters are TOURIST. This is where guest should be very conscious of their surrounding and safety. However, the French Quarters is still a great area to visit as well as Joe and Flo. So, come on down and see what's all the fuss is about ! Joe and Flo, " A HOME AWAY FROM HOME".

Our host was friendly welcoming us in the middle of the night and did not hesitate to accomodate us in some other rooms with better conditions than we booked without charging an extra penny. The hostel made a very warm impression thanks for its fabuolus host. Have already recommended this to some friends and will do so further on. Thank you very much for making our stay so great.
