the staff are wonderful! one walked me to a an excellent restaurant and another teaches a fun origami class every night. All are welcoming and warm and eager to help. The hostel is full of travel books from previous travelers so no worries if you forgot one - in addition the walls are covered in important information on Tokyo in addition to lots of easy maps. Hostel was good with all the basics you need (but nothing more), helpful staff and the location was perfect close to the Asakusa subway stop. It was also easy to find. Would definetly stay again.

Well, the room was quiet and clean. But I couldn't sleep well because people in the next room were talking too loud. I had to tell the staffs about it. Lounge and kitchen is on the 3rd floor so it was a bit uncomfortable. They gave me free sake coupon in Khaosan bar but have to walk a little to get there. Good, in general!

Our room was quiet even though the hostel was busy. Facilities were fine with the minor exception of slow internet. Nice and helpful staff. We had a tiny double room, but it was comfortable.

The location is really good. Easy access to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Riponji. Suitable accommodation. The staff is really helpful, communicative. However, there is a kitchen and a living room where you could meet lots of travelers. I've chosen this hostel thanks past reviews and I'm very grateful 'cause I have a delighted stay in this hostel. The bathroom was very damp and there was a lot of humidity that could not get out as there was no fan or aircon. Because of this the bathroom smelled horrible and rotten. As this was built recently, I can only imagine how the smell will be in a couple of years... Reidun, from Norway ~ 17th Oct 2011

My friend and I stayed for 5 nights in a private 2-bed room and loved it!! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location is in a really nice area called Asakusa (in most travel guides, it's considered a must-see, especially the temple). Also, the walk to the subway station is 5 min or less, so it was convenient to get everywhere we wanted to go. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone doing Tokyo on a budget!

The personal was so great helping us with where we could go in tokyo and also after when we wanted to go to the mountains we got help from the very nice receptionist! And also great class in origami, I hope Khaosan samurai will live and prosper for many years!
