La Chimba Hostel in Parnu, Chile

The hostel is really "cool". They have lots of different spaces for you to enjoy. They are very criative regarding the decoration. The staff is nice (most of them) and helped me everytime i needed. Great hostel in a great old house, actually there are about three houses connected, so they offer a lot of rooms with different character. Thus there were many people, great for socializing with barbecues in the patio, but a little crowded. Only cooler: Not all showers had hot water. Generally recommended.

Hey ! We are happy you enjoyed your stay despite the water issue. We are sorry if you didn't find hot water in one of our bathrooms at a given moment. We have one particular bathroom with an independent water heating system that requires changing its propane tank every two weeks and it is normally done before it runs out as one of our main concerns is hot water for everyone, everywhere, anytime. Anyways, we are happy to inform that we are currently in the process of upgrading all our showers to hotel standards with hot water accumulators and hydraulic pumps to provide hot power showers in every bathroom of the hostel. 70% of our showers are already operating this way and 100% of them will be so in two or three weeks. Had you told us this or any inconvenience during your stay here we would have made up for it one way or another. We appreciate for your feedback!

We stayed at La Chimba for 2 nights and absolutely LOVED it. The staff (especially Simon) was friendly and very helpful and the neighborhood was fun and conveniently located. I would recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Santiago. Katherine, from USA ~ 9th Oct 2011
