Lantana Lodge International Backpackers in Auckland, New Zealand

I had a great time here. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. It is a bit of a hike to the CBD, but the Parnell neighborhood has a lot of cool things as well. I felt very comfortable there, and everyone who was staying there was so friendly. They have a great social room. I would suggest it if you don't mind being a little off the beaten path. It's definitely in a quiet and nice neighborhood.

This was a lovely hostel with lots of charm and a 'homely' feel. It's also quite a quiet hoste if you just need some time out it's perfect. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were great. It's only a short walk to the city and the buses are often. My only complaint was that it was quite cold throughout but with a few extra layers I didn't notice it, and I was fine at night. I'd definately stay there again. Heather, from Wales ~ 16th Jul 2009

This is a GREAT place to stay. It's the cleanest hostel I've ever seen, and the managers are incredibly nice and helpful.

Lantana was great! I wish we had more time to stay there. Best bunks I've ever slept in! Management was very helpful in securing us a CHEAP cab ride to the Spaceships pickup as well. Thanks so much for a terrific night! Edwin, from USA ~ 25th Apr 2009

If you had already stayed in the city center of Auckland this place is perfect. If not it is a wee bit of a treck to get to the center of town. Colin, from Scotland ~ 2nd Apr 2009
