This hostel is located at the seaside in Ostia, a great place to flee Rome and have some peace (it's 40 minutes away by train). The building used to be an early 20 century boarding school, it has large hallways and high ceilings. There are 130 rooms. Free breakfast at will. The facilities are very clean, but the tv in my dorm room didn't work, and nobody woke me up in the morning even though I asked. Ostia is close to Fiumicino airport, the Cotral bus to get me there was late! Ariadna, from Canada ~ 1st May 2012

I really enjoyed staying here. It was a short 30 minute bus drive from the airport. It was right off of the beach (we could see the water from our window). It was a short walk to lots of different restaurants. They had all sorts of recreational things at the hostel including pool, ping pong, games, books, and a movie room. I stayed here for 4 nights in Oct. 2011.Very kind and helpful staff.Loved the big room and big windows, the cleanliness, the convenience of the bar and a restaurant out the back door.Also loved the neighborhood and felt safe walking there by myself in the evening.Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.A great place for women traveling alone or together who appreciate peace and quiet and comfort. Litus is a great place if you are looking for somewhere a bit of the beaten path.About an hour by train from historic Rome, but only 1 block from the beach.It was a very relaxing atmosphere and the staff was amazing. Douglas, from USA ~ 26th Aug 2011

The best part about this hostel was Antoine. He was SUPER helpful at telling me where to go and what to see and where to eat (great food for really cheap).He even gave great ideas of where to go for when I was in Paris.The hostel was clean and on the beach, but there weren't many people there and the beach kind of sucked.It was also 40km outside of Rome (but there is an all night bus that can take you back so it is not ALL that isolated) Robert, from USA ~ 27th Aug 2011
