Yes, as people say, it's not near the city centre. That's part of what makes Lucky Lake so great! It's pretty quick to get to, and really great to have a relaxing place to go to after a busy day in town. The staff are funny and lovely, the showers have real taps (not push-button) and the beds are clean and comfy. It is the perfect hostel, the people are awesome, breakfast is okay and there are also computers to use to go online! It is just too sad that the location is that far away from amsterdam downtown. the shuttleservis is awesome and really well organized and a lot of fun to go with! We love Lucky Lake! Staff were super cool, very warm welcome, showers/bathrooms very clean, free tea and coffee all day every day and nice breakfast. Lots of stuff to do on the actual site - you can rent a canoe and bikes, and other activities. We were there during a rainy weekend, but it would be AMAZZZING in the sun. Free internet in a nice communal area with tables where everyone mingles. Take long PJs if you're in a caravan, it's VERY cold when it's cold but heaters = 2 euros/night. A lot of people say that Lucky Lake Hostel is in a bad location however, I found it extremely relaxing to be able to stay outside of the city away from all the city vibes. I think this is a great hostel. Friendly, helpful staff- lovely location. Great bike rides, lovely walks. Very cute, very funky.We felt a bit old, but got used to that.I would recommend this for younger travelers.Hard to get into upper bunk on the cabin and would like the office to open earlier. Lucky Lake was an amazing experience! Ended up staying 3 days extra due to the wonderful surroundings, affordable and clean caravans and the great staff. I will return for sure and can recommend it to anyone who loves chilling in great surroundings. Tobias Dyreborg, from Denmark ~ 2nd Aug 2011
