i often go in lot of Hostels .. this is very very good ! .. big room , very clean, for this time just my friend and me in a room is for that the security is good but is difficult to meet other peoples.. but you can sleep at all moment !! :) the location is very good between the old city and the West End ..and near pubs and clubs ... the staff are professionnal .. je le conseille fortement ! :) nicolas, from France ~ 16th Oct 2009

McLays is a like huge B&B- but not the atmosphere of a B&B- typical scottish breakfast- basic- ok. Staff was helpful but not over friendly.The rooms were partially not very secure. All in all it's a good value place to stay in Glasgow in a very good location. Many pubs, restaurants and shops are just around the corner. But don't expect to much for this price. It's an old building and a bit dodgy house, but our room was quite ok. The welcome a the reception was not at all friendly. Lucia, from Germany ~ 28th Jun 2009

The stay at McLays were great.Good location,clean,friendly staff. Me and my friend got there early thursday morning,and the man at the reception gave us breakfast but we didn´t had to pay for it.Great!:) But don´t hope for a "youth hostel",it´s no partying going on.
