Nice looking hostel with friendly staff. It has a big lounge where you can relax, have a drink or even some food. Their breakfast is marvelous. The subway station is not nearby, its a 15 / 20 minutes walk. Taking a taxi is a good way to travel around in Nanjing. They are not too expensive and will get you there quick. Location is good but not excellent. It's convenience for taking bus there. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly. However, I just don't like the public toilet and shower area which are located in the yard, outside the building. It's inconvenience to walk out especially, at the night time. I would suggest the hostel to provide the slippers (or even sell it) to the guests. Moreover, toilet is very chinese style. Yes, It's clean but each room is seperated by a small partition only. This hostel has a lot going for it - great location, friendly staff who can speak great English, the hostel building itself has a lot of character and could be really the best if it would just be cleaner. Outside the first room we stayed in was a storeroom filled with old doors and decorative wood pieces from the house. paint cans and screens. The second room we stayed in had black mold so we asked to move and the 3rd room was fine. This place needs someone to clean and polish this lovely home. anne, from USA ~ 17th Jul 2011

The first staff we met at the front desk was very unfriendly which made us so upset. Whenever we ask her questions, she never smiled and reacted as if we were troublesome guests. The lady from second night was very nice, though. Anyway, first impression is always important. Therefore, our impression of this hostel remains with unconfortable because of that girl's attitude. There were only 2 shower rooms with hot water for everyone. Bathrooms were not too dirty. They had black out at 23h00. Mari, from Japan ~ 18th Apr 2011
