DO NOT STAY HERE. The hostel policy is to only staff the front desk from 8-5. My roommate, recently released from prison, used drugs in the room. With no staff on hand to address the issue, I had no option but to involve the Police and pay to stay at a nearby hotel. The hostel has done nothing to reimburse me or rectify the situation. The room was nothing like the photos. It was very small and at first on our first night the bed broke into two pieces... after changing room we where in a smaller, more like a cage, with no electric sockets.. whats the point having free wifi if recharging is impossible?! The breakfast was very cheap and the sheets were not clean... I have been to hostels with the same price and they were 5star hotels compared to this one... Unfortunately the floor of the hostel stank like a cesspit. Even though it didnt stink in the room i was always holding my breath getting there. So I cant recommend the New International youth Hostel. Mara, from Germany ~ 16th Mar 2012

I don't know what was happened but my reservation was no in a system and there were no any other free rooms so I need about 3 hours to find a new hotel (in Saturday it is not easy) Siarhei, from Belarus ~ 26th Sep 2011

This place should not be advertised. Upon arrival the manager at reception demanded cash, although it was not mentioned in the booking at the time of reservation. It was filthy to start. I went few flights of steps up unlit hallway to the top floor to - I presume - one of the 'better' rooms, only to end up with multiple bites - the place is infested with bed bugs, seems like a common problem in Belgium. Room was new & appeared clean, but morning after 1 night stay both of us have bad case of apperant bedbug bites dozens, very potent itch.Cannot say fr sure the mattresses &/or duvet were infested, but as the bites are appearing on our exposed extremitie & not under our underwear worn to bed...
