The place is pretty good, since it is relatively new, the furnitures are good. The only problems are toilet is a bit smelly and some rooms has no window. Shihong, from USA ~ 11th Nov 2009

we spent two days in Penang from 4-5/Nov, this hostel was definetly fantastic. Staff (Uncle) is very helpful in offering directions,suggestions and recommendations, the free coffee provided in Old Penang House is very good. room is very clean, the lights is beautiful. too much rain during our stay make the night a bit noisy, but overall, best hostel ever....and WE love penang! The staff was certainly very friendly and tried to accommodate every request. The hostel is just a stone's throw from Chulia street, the main thoroughfare, so getting around from there was easy. I do have two grouses : (1) the shower room on the ground floor is none too clean. The first time I stepped BAREFOOT into it, it felt like I had landed on a thin film of slime. I still get the shudders when I think about it. (2) The walls of the rooms are mere partitions - thin ones at that - so tha Audrey, from Singapore ~ 17th Aug 2009
