Oleander Hostel in San Diego, Ungarn

Oleander Hostel is in a perfect location. I was able to walk to the best restaurants, sights, and nightlife areas. The staff is very friendly and hospitable. He was ready for any questions I had and was able to point me in the right direction whenever I needed help. Security is a big plus in this place since you get your own keys and it has two doors to keep strangers out and customers protected. Place was quiet and clean, good experience overall. We arrived and had to pay a deposit that we didn't know, 10 euros per person and we had to pay all with cash because they don't accept credit card. The toilet was dirty and only one shower for at least 22 persons with hot water just for the first 5 persons. And when you are about to leave the hostel and country they give back the deposit money in florins. Very poor conditions, to avoid!

We are sorry that you are upset because we ask you a deposit but it seems that is your first travel in your life since every single hostel will ask you a deposit to ensure that you are not going to cause troubles or damage the place or loose the keys. Anyway, despite that your group damaged a bed and stole 4 wallpapers and 2 bulbs from the rooms we gave you the whole amount of the deposit back. About the currency of the deposit, you have exchange offices on every corner of the city to decide what currency you want to use. We accept deposits in all currencies.

Excellent hostel, I couldn't recommend it more highly. It's relatively small size and very friendly staff giving advise of the many places you could visit during your stay. The staff is great and super friendly pointing on a free map all the most important places in the city. The entrance is a little bit spooky, but then once you are inside the hostel, you easily feel like home. Very clean and comfy beds to rest after a long day sightseeing. This Hostel is right in the center of Budapest. It was easy to get anywhere we wanted. The staff was friendly. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were clean and the lockers made us feel safe about leaving valuables behind while we went and explored. The best part is that there is a kitchen and fridge so you can bring or buy your own food and save money on eating out. The directions listed from the train station are perfect. We reserved for Oleander Hostel but when we arrived he had overbooked so he put us in a hostel across the street.That hostel Bridge Hostel was very good until they basically threw us out because we stayed thirty minutes over the checkout time.They also don't do luggage storage AT ALL.I'd stay somewhere else.
