Best hostel we have stayed at. As soon as we walked in we were offered drinks and they even carried my bag. So friendly and helpful! Amazing breakfast in the morning, very nice atmosphere, great location. We did not want to leave! Amber, from USA ~ 12th May 2012

The staff is exellent! They fullfilled our every request, they made us feel, that we are important to them and they are interested in us. We really felt, that Ostello Gallo D´Oro is our home. Breakfast was really good homemade pies in a hostel! We recommend!! ELINA, from Finland ~ 18th Aug 2011

there is nothing i didn´t love about this hostel.the staff are amazing, they treat you like family!the rooms are big, clean, comfortable and lovely to stay in. the same goes for the bathrooms!The common area is great for meeting people and having a coffee.The breakfast is by far the best i´ve had at any hostel and they hold things like sangria parties in the evening sometimes.They are in the old part of the city and it´s quiet & beautiful - 10mins walk to the Duomo.100% amazing! I LOVED it! Matteo is just awesome! so nice and willing to help. the place is gorgeous and very clean! Only thing i didn't like was that people were allowed to smoke on the balconies, which then seeped into the rooms sometimes...but otherwise perfect hostel, LOVE LOVE LOVE! it's kinda hard to find out because the name of the road written on the hostel explanation didn't match with the one written on the road. it was clean and tidy, bathroom was also nice, but it was a bit noisy, which was probably unavoidable since it located central. the value for money would be 4/5, i think. Staff are friendly and helpful esp. Matteo and Thomas. The location is out of the way a bit, unless you take the bus from the train station. Room no. 5 (female dorm, 3 or 4 beds) has a broken window screen so bugs no a/c in that room so unbearable and fan does not cut it! Beds are comfortable. Ensuite BR in no. 5 which is great, clean, lots of space. Breakfast is superb - quite a rarity in it being inc in room price and good quality.
