I had a really nice time, I was in Ottawa for work. It was busy but spacious enough, so I was able to find quite corners ( to do some yoga, or meditate.) The Staff was really friendly,the first night my room was an oven, so I was switched to a room with a door and fans, no questions asked! We enjoyed our stay in the hostel, especially the room, which was cozy and creatively decorated. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom downstairs which smelled kinda funny and was very tiny, although they did say there was another one upstairs, but we didn't use it. This hostel was greatly situated for downtown Ottawa in the market area.Perfect for skating the Rideau Canal Skateway during winter fest. It was within walking distance to the market and the mall to and Parliament, the Royal Mint, The art museum.My first time at a hostel. The office hostel had more interaction over there in the living room.No interaction in our building. Staff seemed a bit harried and not overly friendly but encouraged us to stay in our building. It locates near to the byward market but it's very tiny and doesn't smell good in the dorm, also there's even a strange woman sleeping in the lounge and saying bad words about a single piece of noise. As hostels go, this place is fine. It is a bit short on toilets, but it is nice. Rooms clean and spotless. Clean sheets and clean towels. Clean toilets. The staff vary from being super helpful, super knowledgable to insipid non canadians who know nothing about Ottawa and are clearly passing time. When we were there, everyone was on WIFI and in winter its a bit cramped inside the lounge and kitchen. But this is a hostel. The next alternative up is twice the price. It is clean and nice.
