Excellent Hostel with an amazing friendly helpful staff. We arrived late in the evening and they sent someone out to the road to guide us in. They then showed us our room and said to check in the next day because it was late and we were tired. Nice mix of backbackers and Chinese clients. Geoff, from USA ~ 27th Aug 2009

This Hostel is situated in the Old town, about 100 metres from the unesco listed cobbled streets! The staff were very friendly, meetin us at the top of the road and carrying our rucksacks! The hostel itself is very nice with a good atmosphere and cool sunning area! The views from the balcony are great and the rooms have a ski chalet look about them as does the whole hostel with its wooden structure. Very friendly helpful staff. Last minute help by walking me to the Naxi concert so that I would not be late for start of concert. This hostel is ideally located for exploring in and around Lijiang. Situated in Shuhe old town. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout my entire stay. The accommodations were clean and well-run. Definitely consider staying here should you be interested in visiting beautiful Lijiang and the facinating sights around Yulong Mountain. Georgette, from USA ~ 20th Mar 2009

Overall our stay at the Panba was very good and its location is very convientant to the old town area of Lijiang. While all of the staff were friendly, we found May was by far the most helpful, always happy to see us and stop for a chat. On the downside, a lot of the advertised services were not available such as, bike hire (we were told all on display were broken); flight booking (a communal computer to book our own online was pointed out to us); and heaven forbid, the very much desired, margar Lisa, from Australia ~ 18th Feb 2009
