Pocitos Hostel in Montevideo, Uruguay

After staying in some large hostels, this was a very nice change of pace. It was exceptionally clean; the shared bathrooms and the private bathrooms downstairs were amazing. I would return just to use the bathrooms! The owners are some pretty friendly and cool guys, as are all the staff there. They're fun to talk to and have lots of information for passing travelers. The 2 young guys who own Pocitos Hostel are very vibrant ,helpfull,and considerate.It is easy to get to the centre of town ,there is a laundry & supermarket +/- 250 meters from the hostel. One of the safer areas at night not many buses run after 8pm so taxis are mode of transport but are not outrageous. Tony A. Anthony, from South Africa ~ 24th Apr 2009

I can recommend this place without constraints: new, clean place, friendly & helpful staff, nice location 5 Minutes from the beach and a bus (104) around the corner that takes you directly to the historical center in case you wont spend your time at the beach. This hostel is only a few months old but is quite good. Very relaxed yet close to many things. If you are looking for a party this is not the place but if you want to chill out for a few days definitely stop by. The one thing they need are some lockers for valuables.
