Riga Student Hostel in Riga, Latvia

We booked as it had best price and because of the "Owners" comment that he was cleaning up. When we arrived we were given our choice of 2 rooms one of which had a pull out couch as a bed that was ratty looking. The second room on the 5th floor had a room that once contained a toilet but that was no longer there with any others on the floor. The place stunk, was dirty and dismal. We were referred to the Enkurs Hotel (http://www.hotelenkurs.lv/) which was a great place; not in the Old City b sharon, from Canada ~ 28th Sep 2009

It was terrible, very unfriendly staff and at the breakfast we got a black egg.... There is nothing more to say about this hostel, which isn`t a hostel, because it`s more a cheap hotel for migrant workers... The room and and the location were OK, but we wouldn`t stay there again!

We know that the actual situation with the hostel is not very good. Since this week, we are in the process of improving service, cleanliness and the attention to our guests.
