ni bien llegue habia 2 chicos d mendoza y neuquen qe son unos copados, maria la recpcionista tambien tenia toda la onda y despues armamos un grupito de italianos, franceses, ingleses, 1 yankee y 1 catalan... hicimos la trilha del parque lage y subimos hasta el cristo... despues los chicos alquilaron una van VW y se fueron a buzios... Good view, it was worth the steps. Did not enjoy the cockroaches in the shower though. Also, the monkeys around were really sweet and we could feed them with fruit. Make sure you pay the amount youve booked it for! Ina Marlen, from Norway ~ 1st Mar 2012

this hostel in located on top of hill with about 200 steps. i'm not joking, you need to climb with all your luggage. the beds are very bad, and you feel the wood in your back. the breakfast was awful. you can't close your room as there are holes in the walls. trust me, there are better places. save yourself the aggravation Ofer, from Israel ~ 21st Oct 2011

Location is good, close to lots of points of interest, i.e. copocabana beach, pao de acucar, shopping rio do sul, etc. Place could use a fixer upper (make it look a little more finished, instead of we did this the cheapest, fastest way possible) though and new mattresses. I could feel the wood plies from bunk bed through my mattress. Beautiful sitting deck for breakfast and hanging out! Those little monkeys really like to be fed bananas. The staff is very friendly, but the mattresses are terrible, which makes it impossible for a good night's sleep. The place is beautiful, but impractical, because to get to the hostel you need to climb a staircase of 148 steps, which are not mentioned on the site, there was no water available for sale. No lockers or places to put your luggage. The cleanliness of the environment left much to be desired and the speed of the Internet was extremely precarious.
