It's a great hostel for the price you pay. Everything is good. Friedrichshain is a good place to be located in Berlin. The only two small things are that the lay out of the hostel is quite weird, you cannot reach the common room from inside.. The other thing is that the shower does not give you any privacy at all. The hostel is situated in an alternative part of Berlin (galleries, small clubs with good music, small shops, cool people) which offers a lot of fun for little money. The first day we did not even used any public transport and did not go to the city centre - there was enough things to do for the whole day. There is a New Zealand Cafe just next to the hostel with very hospitable and friendly staff. 2% discount for hostel guests and wi-fi internet. Good value for money. The staff is really friendly and helpfull. Always willing to tell you places to go. Even if you ask the most crazy thing. One day it was so cold i said to them i will go swimming (jocking) and they said to me in the river there is a half shinked boat the warm the water inside and you can swimm!!!! Glen the new zealand person is always with a smile at his face and always ding somethign cleaning something. The atmoshpere in the hostel is nice. I surelly recomemnd this hostel to everyone. I'd definitely stay at Schlafmeile Hostel again when am next time in Berlin. Well located in a quiet and calm living area, with big supermarkets 300 m away and good connections with public transportation Velin, from Bulgaria ~ 9th Aug 2011

Great cheap place to stay. No luxury but beds were clean and comfortable and so was the common area. A short walk from Berlin's excellent public transportation system makes the distance from the middle of town not an issue. Staff and owner were friendly, available and accommodating.
