Socrates Hotel Malia Beach in Lisbon, Griechenland

George the owner was extremely helpful and welcoming! The restaurant recommendations he gave had excellent food. The hotel itself is a 5 minute walk to malia beach which has awesome waves.However if you're intending to visit the more famous and beautiful beaches of Crete for swimming, Malia might not be such an ideal place to stay because it's a 3h drive to beaches like Elafonissi and Falasarna. Good location...short walk to the beach, clubs, restaurants, old town, the bus stop, and the taxi station. The staff recommended FANTASTIC restaurants in old town for dinner each night. The hotel was more of a family setting which was nice. Robert, from USA ~ 15th Jun 2011
