a very average hostel, all the charm of a 1950 russian hotel. bedding stank as you had to pay for linen. beds not very comfortable. but it was o.k. might not stay there agin if there was a cheaper option daniel, from Canada ~ 5th Sep 2009

Do NOT stay at this hostel if you would like to see Edinburgh after dark. Know why they have their own shuttle? Because they're IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. They are literally a 20-minute non-stop car ride away from downtown Edinburgh. And the last shuttle leaves downtown at 11 pm (but all four nights I was there the later shuttles all filled up, so you have to plan to take the 10 pm shuttle (but because it gets filled, it actually leaves as soon as it arrives, at 9:50 (so to get a spot you hav Valerie, from USA ~ 14th Aug 2009

the location was very good, close to the center, even the hostal was ok, simple but clean, but i was really disappointed of the staff, very unwilling and unflexible, i had never met anyone that uneasy before in any other hostal worldwide. we payed for breakfast but didn´t get it, besides the opening hours of the reception were not respected by the staff, so we were obliged to wait several hours, together with other guests...in spite of our previous phone advice... Gutes und sehr billiges Hostel. Wir waren nicht so viel drinnen im Hostel, weil wir möchten lieber die Stadt sehen und erleben. Sie haben da kostenloses Internet, sehr praktisch, und eine ziemlich gute Küche. Das einzige schlechte Dinge da, ist das es gibt kein Licht zwischen der Küche und den Treppen nach der Küche.
