This is a clean hostel with helpful staff. The location is great as it takes just 5 minutes to walk to Independance Square and the Cathedral and Golden Gate are just round the corner. The only down side is there isn't a common room where people can hang out, but if you are just in Kiev for a couple of days this is a great place. Peter, from England ~ 18th Sep 2011

Once again, a great stay at St. Sophia Hostel! It has a great location, super clean dorms with actual box-spring mattresses and nice bathrooms. Alex, the owner, was a great help once again and went above and beyond for anything we needed. Thanks for everything! Ross, from USA ~ 25th Jul 2011

I cannot say enough good things about this hostel! What makes this place one of the best in Kyiv is Alex, the owner of the hostel. From the moment we arrived at the hostel until the time he dropped us off at the airport, he was constantly helping us in any manner he could. From showing us where to eat/shop/swim/party to booking us a tour of Chernobyl although it was closed at the time, he was absolutely fantastic!
