Beautiful backpackers. Exceptionally clean and quiet. The Aardvark is also very environmentally friendly. However, this is not a place for the laid back traveler. Be sure to read all signs; there are many. If you do not read a sign carefully then ask the staff questions that have been answered by the sign, then expect to be scolded. Also, ask how to wash the dishes. They are VERY particular about this. If the sink is full of dirty water, DO NOT DRAIN IT! You WILL be scolded. Summary: It's a beau

Hi, it is a shame that this traveller appears to have had a bad experience whilst staying with us. In answer, we have 5 signs - 2 by the bins explaining what we recycle, use/conservation of the water, how to turn on the cooker hob and to switch off lights when not in use - and a flyer in the rooms outlining our environmental policies. We occasionally find that guests do not do their dishes which is unfair to other guests in a shared kitchen so they may get told about this. It is very difficult to maintain such an exceptionally clean backpackers without co-operation/rules. We do however expect our guests to BEHAVE like responsible adults and not like teenagers in their parents home. Thank you
