A really good hostel with great staff that make you feel at home. It's a short walk to all the sights and they put out a decent breakfast. Almost a home away from home and definitely recommended! The beds really are a bit shakey though... patrick, from Canada ~ 25th Nov 2011

I really liked the character of the hostel. I stayed in the dormitories downstairs with the low ceiling but it was more reminiscent medieval loft than a basement. The staff was incredibly friendly with an informal setting suggesting that they were more like your friend showing around their house than an employee. Kitchen was nice although a bit rustic. Great wifi. Fun backyard. Walking distance from the subway and the fun parts of downtown although you'll be walking uphill a little ways on your Nicholas, from USA ~ 22nd Jan 2012

A place where you feel like home after seconds. The Yellow House is a hostel that makes you feel like you are staying at a friends. The great kitchen, living room, backyard and the great atmosphere fit perfectly into this beautiful city. I had a wonderful time with great staff, fantastic moments and good people which all make you forget immediately that there are unfortunately not always enough showers... this hostel is awsome, we were in two, me and my friend the staff was very nice!! just one little problem with one bed: they give one of ours two beds to another girl i think just because they made a mistake with bookings. they fixed this problem the day after moving the girl in another room. sara, from Italy ~ 7th Aug 2011

The hostel was pretty nice, clean with a big patio where you can take your breakfast it's pretty clean, and the staff is very friendly. The showeraren't that hot but it doesn't really matter during the summertime! Nice place to stay in Porto, too bad the city ain't that pretty or fun... Good deal hostel! Le stanze sono abbastanza pulite anche se non sono bellissime ( almeno nella parte dove ero). La cosa fantastica dell'ostello e' un grazioso giardinetto per mangiare e una cucina attrezzatissima. This hostel is very nice, especially the garden. My only complaint and one that would stop me from ever going back there is their bunk beds. They are so unstable that when someone sleeps on the top of bed,every time they move the entire bed shakes. I didn't sleep very well at all. Katy, from Canada ~ 20th Jun 2011
