Villa Banana in Nerja, Kroatien

The owner picked me up from the bus station (for free) which was really good. As Villa Banana is on the top of the hill it would have been quite hard to walk up there with the luggage. When I arrived I got a juice to drink and cookies. I booked for a 4 bed dorm but got into a 3 bed dorm which wasn't a disadvantage ). There is a laptop and a PC with Internet to use, but sometimes you are not allowed to use the PC for a longer time. The room I stayed in wasn't air-conditioned but I prefer that. Hostel was clean & awesome view. Owners were a bit grumpy though and it can be a bit uncomfortable at times since you-re staying in their house. You can pay extra for air con apparently. PS. The stairs are more a feature of Dubrovnik than this hostel - its not really possible to avoid stairs here but the view more than makes up for it - and the hostel picked me up for free from the bus stop! Would not recommend to anyone's attention terrible, very dirty, toilets were worth it. It really has been the worst sites I have ever been xavier, from Spain ~ 22nd Aug 2011

The hosts at the place are friendly but not much help with information on the city as they mostly speak the local language. The views are fantastic as the property is at the very top of a hill which you will also have to climb from the old town - it took us quite a while up a million steep steps. If you do not have money for taxi calculate your fitness level carefully.

Just The Old City in Dubrovnik has 5 500 steps and we don't fault for that, ha.

A very warm and helpful family is running the hostel. They picked me up at arrival and drowe me back to the station at departure and were very welcoming and kind. The hostel has 2 computers free internet access and a good safety standard with a locked gate and a security camera outside. The location is good as it's just about in between old town and the harbour, but you have to be willing to walk uphill for 15 minutes or take a taxi which should cost 50 kuna. Dolores and family are the most friendly people I met. They picked me up when I arrived at bus station, welcomed me with drink and biscuit. As they were full on my second day, I moved to another hostel and went back, felt like going home soon I stepped in. They even treated me with their home grown delicious tomatoes. Location is good, walk slow, the 15 to 20 minutes walk and some stairs won't be any problem. It's at the middle, easy to go to old town and Lapad.
