A well located place, close to the river Aare, even though you have to go up the hill to get to the centre (but it\'s a pleasant walk: you can cross a park to get to the Parliament or take some stairs that will take you the the Cathedral). It is a very nice hostel, the staff are helpful and you can get a locker for free and enjoy a very good breakfast (try the home-made muesli!). A drawback is the lack of a kitchen (they have a restaurant, but we did not use it). Olivier, from France ~ 5th Nov 2011

Ich liebe Bern und bleibe gerne in der Jugendherberge über Nacht. Diesmal war ich auch in dem Schwimmbad Marzili an der AAre. Jedem zu empfehlen im Sommer!Reinhard Nowak Reinhard, from Germany ~ 7th Oct 2011

Great hostel, good staff and all around and enjoyable stay. The only downfall of this place would be the hill one has to go up and down all the time to get to it. On the other hand, there is the tram that can help in that situation, but if you're staying in Bern for a little while, it can get expensive. Still a great hostel to be recommended though! Situated in a beautiful residential area, but you have to climb a lot when you want to go to the centre. Excellent breakfast! There could have been more showers for men. Lots of families with children and elderly people stayed there, so it's not a party place. There wasn't lockers in our dorm. Jaakko, from Finland ~ 24th Aug 2011

Great location and good price (considering the swiss franc is valuable right now.) Watch out for the hill though (there's a trolly up it for a franc or two, if you've got luggage). Good hostel, clean, quiet, excellent breakfast, Bern is compact, so its a short walk to most sights. Very beautiful. Anna, from Canada ~ 30th Aug 2011

I really liked the Hostel. Especially the staff was very friendly. The room (6 bed - girls) was not to small and clean. The Hostel is located not far from the main station, though you have to get down/up a quite steep hill (you can also use the cable car: 1,2CHF) to reach it. This has the advantage, that you are really close to the center and still the neighborhood of the hostel is more like a village, which I liked a lot.
