An old courtyard style building very central to attractions in Pingyao. Absolutely freezing in winter, but so was everything in the city. Not an easy place to stay if you don't know a little Mandarin.The staff were fantastic with the kids though and Bob (the Manager)really helped us out with getting bus tickets. Rita, from New Zealand ~ 26th Aug 2011

Nice hostel, great location, but communication with staff was a challenge as they spoke little to no English and didn't appear to be too willing to try. Only the owner speaks English well, but he's only there once a day for about an hour or so, during which time the staff was usually also a lot more helpful and friendly. Zhengjia hostel was a terrific place to stay in Pingyao centrally located, all the amenities you'd want (wifi, drinking water, pool table, good food, clean room and bathroom) and best of all is the wonderful and friendly staff, headed up by the general manger, Bob. Bob speaks great English and helped make our stay and further travel so easy by helping book bus tickets, and other great knowledge of the town and area.
