The service is excellent! The staff are very helpful and responded promptly when we call for help. To get to the hotel, it is recommended to take the local bus at 100 yen and the bus stop is very near to the hotel. If you are holding a Hakone pass, I think there is bus service(towards Moto-hakone line) to the hotel too as we took that bus from the same bus stop to Lake Ashi ferry terminal. We are happy that the room is clean and there is no bed bugs as read in some of travellers' comments.

The opportunity to stay in something so traditional and japanese really made the trip special. its a quiet place and they expect you to be back by 8. not a bad location, in hakone yumoto about a 15min walk downhill to the station but bus recommended up the hill especially with bags! only problem was the cleanliness in the bathroom, was a used plaster on the floor (ew) and generally dim and dingy. the main room (its huge) was awesome though.

Lovely room in a wonderful location on the mountain. Staff was very friendly. The outdoor bath was wonderful.

A vintage area with full character in Japanese style. Location may be a bit of hassle without taking the bus. However, I was surprise when their staff welcome us when we first drop off from the bus stop.
