This is a great place to stay. The three bed japanese style room was very spacious and the bedding was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and spoke very good English. The internet was available most times when we needed it. Overall, it was a good choice and the location was so good that I highly recommend staying here.
really great. basic room, clean bathroom and kitchen. friendly and helpful staff. VERY central location for historical exploring, and about 10 minutes by bus and 25 minutes walk from the shopping district. only complaints were that check in isn't til 3pm. Also, I'd say that the directions are slightly wrong - you go back in the direction that the bus came and take the first right, and then the second right after that (not the first as their website says).
Absolutely loved this pearl of a place. The rooms are nice and clean (you can pick Western or Japanese style). The staff are very friendly and there are also English movies on cable TV. The location is fairly convenient (although hard to find if you haven\\\'t been there before) near Kiyomizu temple and lots of restaurants and shops around. I will definitely stay here if I visit Kyoto again! P.S. I suggest updating the directions/map on how to walk from the bus stop to the guesthouse!
