This place was great! its really small, only 10 people or so and in a grrreat location by gion. On our first night the owner took us all out to a traditional japanese place. it had a really homey atmosphere and would definately stay here again!!!
I couldn't have picked a better place. Amazing people and amazing staff! The owner is so generous and is completely fluent in English. Sometimes he makes dinner for everyone, free of charge!!! The hostel is a cute little Japanese house in the middle of Gion, the geisha district.
Yashi-san is great host, he even cooked an amazing dinner once. The hostel is centrally located and more like a traditional Japanese home. Most recommended hostel in Kyoto.

had a brilliant 4 nights at the IchiEndSou guesthouse. it was probably the friendliest, most welcoming and homely place i have stayed in 6 months of traveling, which was great due to my staying there near the end of a long trip. the owner Yashi is brilliant. he organises walks around Kyotos local temples plus meals at small local restaurants of exquisite character you would never normally visit! the rooms air spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds and free internet! 10 out of 10...
