Located in Kunming centre, The Hump is a popular backpacker hostel offering accommodation in private rooms and dormitories. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, and some of the private rooms have en-suite bathrooms.
We are located close to a number of local amenities such as shops, supermarkets and pubs, as well as the traditional bird and flower market. We are conveniently connected by bus to all parts of the city; the train station is only 4km away and the airport only 8km.
Facilities at The Hump include a spacious common room with satellite TV, DVD and a bar and restaurant. We also have a sunny roof garden with a pool table, ping pong, table football and a reading area as well as views of the ancient twin towers and the gates of Jinmabiji Square. In addition, we're prepared to offer you free coffee & beer when you check in.Come on !

The recent Visa obtaining system has just changed and that has immediate and unexpected effect for our online booking system. A number of bookings have been made for the purpose of obtaining a visa, but without an intention to actually come and stay at our hostel.
Clearly, given the slim margins on which we operate, we are unable to sustain such losses and of course we do not wish to disappoint potential clients by turning them away unnecessarily. Our intention now, with your kind understanding, in order to avoid this problem, is to request that you confirm your booking requirement at least 48 hours before arrival. If this is not done we would endeavor to hold on to the room for as long as possible, but in any event the booking will be deemed to have expired indefinitely at 2p.m.
