Casa de la Gringa in Cusco, Peru

I marked the location at excellent because it was exactly what we were looking for - in a distinct appealing neighborhood but within easy walking distance of the city center. Casa de la Gringa is quiet and comfortable. Not great for people who are looking for a party hostel, but an excellent place to relax and leave the bars outside. Jeremy, from USA ~ 9th Sep 2009

This hostel was freezing and a bit ridiculous. There are paper hearts and stars strung from the ceilings which I think are supposed to add to the spiritual ambiance but it felt more like a nursery school classroom. We stayed in a private room in the annex, and the tiny shared bathroom frequently lacked toilet paper, and the floor had a big puddle 24/7. There was no hot water despite it having advertised hot water. The room we stayed in had dirty walls and was so bare there was not even a sin Rachel, from USA ~ 1st Jun 2009
