Ueber Donde German Hostel
This young Chilean couple (German and Maria Elena) created a charming place that makes you feel good from the first day on. The Hostel is a wooden chalet of typical Patagonian style and beautifully decorated. It has all facilities for a comfortable stay and has a pretty garden with terrace to enjoy the sun.
The atmosphere is charming- an excellent place to relax and to get to know other people.
Furthermore, it has a living room with Cable T.V, fireplace, book exchange. We have comfortable rooms with shared and private bathrooms and equipped with box-spring beds.
In our tourism agency 'Volcan Activo', we offer general tourism information and we organize different excursions (Climbing, Rafting, Horseback Riding, etc.)
We are located in the downtown, 4 blocks from the lake.
Moreover, we have neat houses for rent near the hostel, fully equipped for 2 to 6 persons and include also a nice garden and terrace.

We had a really great stay here. We stayed in a double room with private bathroom, and it would have been one of the best we have stayed in during our 7 mths of travelling. Make sure you ask for a room- not in the main house- they are bigger. My one gripe is, that they are really strict with the heating, and they will try and charge you if you use the heating above your allowed hours- though they never explain this to you, when you check in. Donde Germain Hostel is a great place to stay. They are actually building a new hostel in town (Brasil St) which will be ready for next summer so they are currently located slightly out of town but only a 10 minute walk to the main street (and there is a large supermarket around the corner so very convenient). The kitchen and common area is large, they have free WI-FI and the hostel is very clean. They also offer tours that they run themselves (we did the volcano with them & it was excellent) Martin, from Australia ~ 3rd May 2009
