International youth hostels Uganda was registered on he 8th June 2001. It is recognised by ministry of Tourism, Trade and industry, UNESCO, tours and Safaries companies in Uganda. It works in partnership with Uganda Scouts and guides, Red Cross and YWCA/ WMCA in Uganda.

It is the first the scond youth hostel association regisered with hostelworld.com following Lweza guest house located on Enebbe airport roard Kampala. It has the second youth hostel at Willis building to expand accommodation facilities in Kampala.
