Do you need a break away from the hectic pace of life and the city traffic? Are you looking for a few days to unwind? Come to the lovely Irish countryside and stay at Lakeside Hostel Rosduff, approximately one mile from the quiet town of Arvagh, County Cavan, and less than a two-hour drive from Dublin Airport or car ferry.
At the Lakeside Hostel, we have quality self-catering accommodation. There are two dormitories as well as double, twin, triple and family rooms - all ensuite - ideal for families or for longer stays. We can accommodate groups of up to 28 people.
Facilities include a well laid-out kitchen, a spacious lounge with wide-screen TV and dining room as well as a laundry. There is free tea and coffee, Wi-Fi and free loan of board games, books and footballs/ basketballs.
The gardens are full of mature trees and are a haven for a wide range of bird life as well as having plenty of grass to kick a ball or play basketball. We have donkeys, chickens, pet rabbits and guinea pigs as well as a well-behaved golden lab Buddy and his arch enemy Holly, the cat. No animals are allowed in the house.
Our guests have commented that it's more like a hotel except that the beds are mostly bunk style.
We have a beautiful garden and our location is in one of the most scenic parts of Ireland, unspoiled and ready for exploring on bike or foot or ideally in a boat or kayak.
Please respect that this is a family home with young children. Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. We do not accept new arrivals after 9pm Payment is due in cash on arrival. Credit cards are only used to secure the room. We also expect to see proper photo ID at registration.If you are not able to take up your booking, please let us know in good time. Please try to help us be as green as possible by recycling, switching off lights etc. No animals in the house, not even our own.
