Über Globetrotters/The Townhouse
Adresse: 46/48 Lr Gardiner Street, Dublin 1, Dublin, Ireland
Ideally situated just a two-minute walk from the main street in Dublin (O'Connell Street), the hostel building itself is very famous. Its 200 years old and was once the home of famous poets and playwrights Mr. Dion Boucicault and Lafcadio Hearne (Koizumi Yakumo). Weve gone to great lengths to restore the buildings and the hostel still maintains the character of years gone by.
We have single, twin, double and triple Townhouse rooms available. All rooms have cable TV, telephones and tea/coffee makers. Please note some triple rooms have a double bed and a single bed.
Our specially-designed Globetrotter dormitories can accommodate 6, 8, 10 or 12 people. All dorms have en-suite showers and toilets as well as comfortable pine bunk beds which are custom-designed for us. Each bed has a reading light and the bed linen is professionally laundered daily. Continental quilts are also included which have been said to be cosy in winter and refreshingly cool in the summertime.
We open the kitchen to our guests to allow them to cook their own meals between 3pm and 9pm.
There is a free left-luggage facility. Safety deposit boxes are also available for a small charge. The Breakfast Room overlooks a wonderful Japanese garden in which you are also able to enjoy an outdoor picnic should you desire.
Most tourist attractions are within walking distance from here, including Trinity College, the National Art Gallery, museums, etc. The central bus station (Busaras) and Connolly train station are just around the corner from us. As if all of this wasn't enough, the airport bus stops right outside our door!
Please note that children under 16 must be booked into private family rooms and are not permitted in shared accommodation.

The front desk staff were utterly amazing. This was my first stop and they made me feel very welcome and excited to be in the country. The only downfall is I found silverfish bugs in room and bathroom, which makes me think their overall building maintenance isn't the best. I camp often so bugs aren't an issue for me as silverfish are harmless but I know it can be for some. Sharon, from Canada ~ 29th Apr 2013

The staff has been very friendly and helpful at all times, the rooms were clean and are ok in relation to the price. The breakfast and the kitchen is a no go, concerning dirty dishes, cuttlery and table linen. There is not enough staff to take away the used trays and dishes from the tables, so it feels a little disgusting to have breakfast there or to cook in the kitchen. They could do so much better and easier if they provided a table or similar to put the used trays on. Jenny, from Germany ~ 14th Aug 2012
