La Casa de Victor
Clean and quiet Bed and Breakfast in the center of Granada. A cozy place run by its owner, Victor, a teacher of Spanish who has been hosting guests from all over the world since 2003. An ideal place for those who really want to be able to sleep at night. Total privacy, there is no curfew & you have your own keys. Private double room with private bathroom. No dormitories.
All the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities including a kettle, a small fridge and a dining table. There is free super-fast reliable broad band WI-FI access in the rooms. There are lots of books in several languages and guide books on Granada, Andalucia and Spain. Book exchange is available free of charge on leave one take one basis. Victor has designed and printed his own exclusive customized map of Granada for his guests, which has already become very popular. It includes all the places he likes when it comes to go out sightseeing or partying, eating or drinking, for tapas or wine, for beer or ice-cream, for hot chocolate or pastries. Priceless! You will not want to go out without it!
La Casa de Victor is right in the center, two blocks from Plaza Mariana Pineda, one the most beautiful and popular parts of Granada, within walking distance of almost everything. Restaurants, tapas bars, clubs, museums, monuments, festivals, flamenco venues, theaters, cinemas, most beautiful squares, parks, gardens, boulevards and most popular shopping streets and avenues. We are connected by direct buses and shuttles to each and every part of Granada, including the Airport and the Bus and Railway Stations.
Proper breakfast is not provided but free tea, coffee, sugar, milk, croissants and cupcakes are included with your accommodation. You can have that in your room whenever you want, as early or as late as you like. It is not a banquet but remember it is free and available all day. If you want to have a richer breakfast or save money on food remember you have a big fridge in the room and there are good cheap supermarkets nearby.

We are in the center, only a 5 minute walk from Puerta Real. There are buses to Puerta Real from the airport, Bus Station and Railway Station.
FROM PUERTA REAL TO LA CASA DE VICTOR:
It is less than 5 minutes from Puerta Real bus stop to our place. There are three consecutive squares from Puerta Real, each with a fountain in the middle: Fuente de Las Batallas, Plaza del Campillo and Plaza Mariana Pineda, from which our Street begins. Once on Enriqueta Lozano Street walk two blocks until you get to number 22 which is on your right. Look for the bell numbered 2 B and ring it. If you do not arrive at the time you gave with your reservation chances will be that you will not find anyone there to let you in. Please do not disturb the neighbors, phone Victor instead to make a new appointment.
FROM THE AIRPORT:
Take the airport bus and get off at Puerta Real. Then follow the directions above. Alternatively a taxi to our front door would cost you about 25 Euros.
FROM THE RAILWAY STATION:
Go straight up Avenida Andaluces from the Railway Station (500 meters) onto Avenida de Constitución. On your right, on Avenida de Constitución, you will see the stop for the LAC bus line. Buses run every 3 minutes. Buy the ticket from the machines on the platform (you cannot buy them once on the bus without risking being fined). These buses have a screen inside showing the name of the stops. Get off at Puerta Real.
The Railway Station is 2.5 kilometers away from the centre. It is safe to walk all the way from the Railway Station to our place even at night but please note it will take 30 minutes without luggage and most probably around 45 minutes with luggage.
Alternatively a taxi from the Railway Station would cost about 6 Euros
FROM THE BUS STATION:
The Bus Station is not in a nice area and it is outside town about a 90 minute walk from us. It could be dangerous at night and even at midday. Please do not walk from there! Do not put yourself at risk to save a couple of euros. Save money in other things.
There are no direct buses to the centre from the Bus Station and you need to transfer. My favorite option (the fastest) is to take bus N4. Buy the ticket from the driver and keep it as transfers are free for 60 minutes. Get off at La Caleta (last stop) and from there take the LAC bus line. The LAC buses have a screen inside showing the name of the stops. Get off at Puerta Real.
Alternatively a taxi from the bus station would cost you about 10 Euros
If you have your own CAR please note it is not allowed to enter by car in our street, it is only for residents, and parking is not only forbidden (not even to drop off your luggage) but physically impossible as the street is very narrow. Finding a car space for free in the center is also impossible, so you would either have to leave it outside the center and then walk or leave it in a car park.
If you want to leave the car close to us in a car park there are two convenient places nearby. Parking Puerta Real is the easiest to reach, it is big and modern, but it is expensive, it costs 21 Euros per 24 hours. To get to this car park follow directions to Puerta Real below.
Parking La Carrera on calle Nicuesa, 9 is the closest to us (only 100 meters) and also de cheapest (it costs 10 Euros per day for bikes and 15 Euros per day for cars) However, it is small and difficult to get to. If you want to get to this parking you will definitely need a GPS. Its coordinates are 37°10'15.7'N 3°35'42.4'W.
To get to Puerta Real by car take highway A-44 / E-902 to Motril and take turn off number 131 (Palacio de Congresos / Armilla). If you have a GPS ignore the GPS and, please, take turn off number 131 as indicated before. Then you can keep using your GPS. If you are coming from Motril take turn off number 132 instead. The same advice as before applies.
500 meters pass the Conference Centre turn left and cross the river at “Paseo Del Salon” into “Acera del Darro” and then “Puerta Real”.
To park for free in the street leave the car as far from the centre as possible in a neighbourhood where parking in the street is free such as the south east area across river Genil from the centre (see map below). Expect a 10 to 20 minute walk from the space where you left the car to the B&B.
To park for free in the street ignore the bridge after the Conference Centre and continue along the river on “Paseo de los Basilios”, then turn right onto “Callejon del Pretorio” and start looking for a free space. Always keep the river behind you. The further from it the greater your chances of finding a space will be.
