Skalkaho Poor Farm in Hamilton, Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika

The Skalkaho Poor Farm is nestled in the Bitterroot Valley near Hamilton, Montana. Originally built in 1910, this Skalkaho ('Land of the Beaver') homestead was one of the original farms on the east side of the valley. Over the years its orchard has produced apples, pears, apricots and plums. We also raise and train Arabian horses.

New this season - trekking tours are available in the gorgeous Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains. Experience the grandeur of Montana Wilderness without the crowds! From two-hour to three-day trips, with easy-to-moderate available.

Lodging consists of one dormitory-style room with four beds as well as an authentic-style crow tipi for camping with an awe-inspiring view of the Bitteroot and Sapphire mountains. We also have limited availability for a private suite.

There is a common room with stove, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. The country atmosphere is sure to provide for a relaxing getaway.

Over the years, its orchard has produced apples, pears, apricots and plums. Don't be surprised if our friendly Arabian horses greet you at the gate!
