Traveling North

From the A591 traveling north on approaching Grasmere go past the roundabout junction near to the Wordsworth Trust signposted Grasmere Village. Instead take the next left hand turn 1/2 mile further on also signposted Grasmere Village and opposite to The Swan Hotel.

This is Swan Lane (B5287) leading to Broadgate. Follow this into the village for 1/2 mile Easedale Road is immediately on the right as you reach the village green having just passed the Coop Store.

Follow as for on foot above.

If you pass the side track to Thorney How you will reach a farm and eventually come back to the A591.

Traveling south

From the A591 approaching Grasmere shortly after the first 40 mph sign either take a right hand turn on a sharp bend opposite a post box, currently unsignposted leading to a single track lane. Follow this to a small bridge. Take the left hand fork after the bridge onto another narrow lane with limited passing places for approximately mile. After passing a farm on the right the road twists and drops down hill. A right hand turn leads to an unmade track leading uphill for about 50yds by a Grit Bin. This will be properly signposted in the future. If you pass this track you will eventually come back to Easedale Road and into Grasmere village.

Alternatively take the next right hand turn opposite the Swan Hotel signposted Grasmere village and follow directions as for traveling north above.
