The Mourne Lodge, Cnocnafeola is a homely place located in the village of Atticall, an area of outstanding natural beauty. This unique area is nestled between the Mourne Mountains and the sea. It is the perfect escape and hideaway from a busy lifestyle.
We are only one hour from Belfast or one and an a half hours from Dublin airport
We are centrally located if you wish to visit the Titanic Quarter in April 2012.

As you travel throughout the village you will experience a unique and wonderful landscape of hills, valleys, meadows, rivers and lovely sea views. It is a really unspoilt location.
We are not just a hostel, you can have your private en-suite rooms and eat in our restaurant or you can self cater. The 31 bed centre boasts of excellent budget accommodation. All rooms are en-suite with a mixture of private two beds, four bed and eight bed rooms. The centre provides secure car parking, laundry facilities (at an extra cost), bike storage, self catering kitchen, lounge, restaurant, and conference suite. Our new renovation includes a new wood burning stove in the lounge, extra shower facilities, BBQ and patio area as well as free Wi-Fi throughout! The Restaurant offers good quality, affordable meals offering only fresh local produce and catering for a variety of dietary needs (especially vegetarians). It is managed by a local Home - Economics Teacher who has also spent some time in Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork - run by Darinna Allen. Many of her recipes are on the menu at the centre.
We offer the backpacker / outdoor enthusiast / family group everything for their stay. We also cater for the disabled and the elderly; pets are allowed but outside in a secure yard. We welcome private family celebrations.

In the Sun (well, no rain :-))
Climb any of the Mourne Mountains; Slieve Donard at 850m is the highest peak in Northern Ireland.
Go for a walk up to the Cnocnafeola wood.
Visit Annalong Harbour and do the Mourne coastal walk one of Ireland's most picturesque.
Walk the "Mourne Wall" which start and finish near Silent Valley.
Visit Silent Valley with its beautiful parkland and pond also walk up to the reservoirs.
Go for a round of golf at the Mourne Park Golf Club.
The Head Road Cycling Route, 16 Miles of great scenery starting and finishing in Kilkeel.
Go Horse riding at the Game keepers and track through the mountains to Lough Shannagh.
Walk to Lough Shannagh enjoy a picnic by the lake and catch a fish if you feel inclined!
Visit Cranfield beach and enjoy the mountains and the sea
Play a game of pitch and putt at Cranfield

Choose one of our travel books or travel magazines and curl up in front of the wood burning stove.
Watch a movie, we have DVD players and DVD's available at reception.
Take "a Mountain drive" starting and finishing right here in Atticall.
Visit the local supermarket and treat yourself to some fresh scones and coffee.
Relax in the local leisure centre, the sauna and the steam and enjoy the warm Jacuzzi.
Develop your cooking skills at the Mourne Cookery School in Kilkeel.
Visit Mourne Grange Coffee and craft shop.
Visit Greencastle - A Norman Castle
Take the local Rambler bus to Kilkeel (4 times a day)
Take the local Rambler bus to Newcastle (5 times a day)
Join the local Set dancing class on Tuesday night and learn the Antrim square
Join in a Community activity and ask Mairead about these-lots happening.
Take a Seaweed Bath in Newcastle's Soak Seaweed Baths.

2012 is destined to be one of the most extraordinary years in our history with new iconic visitor attractions, unprecedented events and historic anniversaries. High profile events, such as the launch of Titanic Belfast and the Cultural Olympiad Peace One Day Concert, will take place throughout 2012. We welcome the world to Northern Ireland. Our time, our place is our strap line for 2012. Its a proud proclamation. We are preparing for this exciting event, do come and visit us.
