Maximum stay is 21 days.
A domestic guest with an in-state ID (Louisiana state issued IDs) will not be allowed to stay in a dorm room.
An international guest will be required to show an international passport or an international ID (ex. a driver's license from foreign countries)
Guests over 40 years old will not be allowed to stay in a dorm room.
No pets allowed.
$5 a refundable cash deposit per person upon check in.

We strive to maintain comfortable environment for our guests and keep to avoid two major hassles in a common hostel - noise and smoke. A quite hour between 9:00 pm and 8 am enacted. Two communal areas will be open during the quite hours. We keep a smoke-free environment except the smoking room that is equipped with a TV and an air conditioner.
Mardi Grass 2018: Please note that between 02/06/18 and 02/13/18 the Hostel has 30 days cancellation policy before guests' arrival.
Also for the reservations of those period, we will pre-authorize the first night on 30 days before arrival.
Jazz Festival Notice: Please note, the cancellation period from 26.04 to 29.04 and 02.05 to 06.05 is 21 days.

Directions from Airport:
Bus: Take #E2 to French Quarter. The stop is located outside of Door #7 on the UPPER LEVEL. Exit at Tulane and Loyola stop. Then walk across the street to the bus stop and take 57 or 88. Exit at N. Rampart and Esplanade ST. Walk to the direction of the bus and find Kerlerec ST. Walk into the Kerlerec Street for 1 minute to the house. Fare is $3.50. Estimate time is 1 1/2 hours.
Car: Right in front of rent-car building, take the Airport RD. Take I-10 East in Metairie. Continue to follow I-610 East to Elysian Field Ave. Take Exit 3 from I-610 E. Take I-10 West. Continue on I-10 W to St Bernard Ave(Exit 236C). Continue on St Bernard Ave. Drive to Kerlerec St. Estimate time is 25 minutes. Two hour parking rule applies between 7am and 7pm when you park a car near French Quarter.
Shuttle: Go to the Baggage Claim Area. Exit the doors and look for Airport Shuttle Staff. Prices range about $24 dollars per person or $40 (round-trip). Tell the driver that you need to get out at the Melrose Mansion on Esplanade Ave, which is located around the corner from the House. Estimate time varies from 35-60 minutes.
Taxi : A cab ride costs around $36.00 from the airport to the house for two persons or $15.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage.
