For the discerning backpacker, Cullinan Backpackers is situated in a stunning old mansion that conveys an intimate and homely feel, offering comfortable dorms with luxury bathrooms en-suite as well as on-suite doubles. Outside, our large garden has plenty of space for you to nap in one of our hammocks, soak up some African sun or chill in our pool after a hard day of adventuring. At night our bar comes to life and it is the place to be for a chat with other interesting travelers, while you enjoy a beer/wine/shooter/scotch at very resonable prices. You can decide if its gonna be a big night partying or a relaxed one with a book on a couch. Either way, we will do our best to ensure you get what you want!

Cullinan is a great base for exploring Johannesburg and Pretoria, somewhere to relax and acclimatise to our vibrant country before going off further into SA. Cullinan is a small rustic little town on the outskirts of Pretoria, where we still practice hospitality with a personal touch. This is also where the African Bush takes over from suburbia and you can still see most of the big 5 in our area. To give you the real feel of Africa, we offer bush-barbecues combined with stunning sun downer game-drives on our wildlife ranch. Here you will have your first close-up of African wildlife, you will see baboon, kudu, impala, zebra or even the very elusive leopard. Later after a bongo drum session, you will listen to the night life in the bush waking up as you sit around a campfire.
