The Green Tortoise Hostel is a popular party hostel located in San Francisco's historic North Beach, just a short walk from Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf.
We have a range of private rooms and cosy dormitories equipped with large lockers and linen. Facilities include a kitchen, a common room, internet access, luggage storage, a tours desk and even a sauna.
We organize events such as pub crawls, tours and nightly activities. Breakfast is included in the rates and we offer free dinners three times a week.
We do not have a curfew.

Please note:
- We accept payment by cash and credit card (VISA/MasterCard).
- A refundable key deposit of $20 is required at check-in (payable by cash only).
- Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours in advance.
A $20 refundable key deposit is due in cash at check in for EACH person, as well as the balance on your reservation - we take cash or Visa and Mastercard. An additional 14% hotel tax will be added to your total reservation price at check-in from May 25-June 28th on weekends, then daily June 28-Oct 15, 2012. A (TID - tourist improvement district tax) of 1.5% is also charged year long by the city. The total price for a dorm bed with all taxes included at check-in is $40.54

I\'ve stayed in a lot of hostels, and the Green Tortoise was by far the best one i\'ve been too. As a solo traveler, i met some great people there (volunteered to help cook dinner). The staff was excelent and very helpful, the food was good (free dinner always a good perk), and the rooms had plenty of space, huge lockers for your luggage, personal electrical outlets and lights at every bed, and plenty of bathrooms.
