Looking for comfort and chill out space? Nestled in a beautiful garden setting just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Tauranga with free carparking and a 4 star Qualmark rating. This makes us the perfect home base while you explore our beautiful Bay of Plenty.
Reception Hours are:
8.30am - 2pm & 4pm - 7.30pm daily.
The Garden:
This warm modern Hostel is an inner city garden oasis, surrounded by mature trees, look out for the signs that label our native fauna in Maori and English. Guests can explore the delightful gardens and admire the quirky hidden garden art, tucked away around every corner. We have sun loungers and picnic tables where you can chill out in the sun or the shade and appreciate a sense of calm and relaxation right in the heart of Tauranga.
The Hostel:
YHA Tauranga has a large fully equipped kitchen including baking equipment, microwave, electric oven, gas hobs, rice cooker and sandwich maker. Plenty of food storage space and a large double fridge help to ensure an exceptional cooking experience. Our common rooms are open 24 hours so you can access the facilities in them anytime day or night. Facilities in the kitchen, dining room and TV area include Internet (CD Burning, Skype phone and card reader), Wireless Hot Spot, card phone and outside; a gas BBQ. We have a small shop and free off and on street car parking. We also provide free for your use: badminton, soccer, croquet and volleyball equipment, DVD movies, a well stocked travellers library, book exchange, guitar, board games and fresh growing herbs.
The Rooms:
All our rooms are individually heated. Private rooms are spacious with towels supplied free of charge. Shared rooms are supplied with free linen and blankets.
Comfort & Security:
Our six bed shared rooms have individual lockers for valuables. We also have coin operated lockers and free lockers available at reception. The rooms all have individual locks and you a given a security code for 24 hour access to the hostel.
YHA New Zealand is a non-profit membership organisation. Non-members pay an additional NZ $3 per person per night fee upon check-in.OPENING HOURS: Please note the office hours for check in. We have FREE bag lockers, as well as $2.00 lockers; available to secure your luggage.
Opening hours: 8.30am - 2pm and 4pm - 7.30pm Door code is required to enter the hostel afterhours so please call on the day if you are arriving after 7.30pm.
