Winner of 'Top Choice' Award, Lonely Planet Fiji 2012. and TripAdvor Excellence Award 2013 Maqai Beach is a fun, island destination for alternative, travelers and surfers. Our beautiful beachfront property on Qamea Island is nestled between a full lush jungle and a lovely white sandy beach. The staff are the happiest people on the planet and give the place a radiant, magical atmosphere.
It's a new fresh style of small resort that is very Fijian, offers traditional outer island experiences and serves delicious food!
An adventure to our hidden island escape involves volcanic mountains, true Fijian villages, and the endless possibilities of the pacific ocean. A whole range of fun activities are possible- snorkelling, fishing, diving, surfing and hiking are all awesome! But the traditional outer island life that surrounds us is what makes Maqai so uniquely special. To stay here is to surround yourself in the fun-loving culture of pure Fiji.
Accomodation is in Eco-Bures ( safari cabins). We have 10 and they are nestled under the palms along the beachfront.
Eco-Bures are furnished with comfy dressed beds, a leather chair, rainwater flush toilets, rainwater showers and are just a few meters from the ocean and a private veranda out of the front for watching the stunning vistas and an en suite bathroom at the rear. Chose form . Singles, twins, doubles.
Located in the garden with magnificent sea views is our 4 bed shared dorm and our world famous Treetop dorm.
Maqai food is delicious! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is prepared with a combination of vegetables harvested fresh from our on-sight organic garden as well as from the local farmer\'s markets. Fresh catch seafood is often on the menu and meal inspirations and recipes come from the local Fijian village home as well as popular favorites across the globe. Tea and coffee is available all day as well as fresh fruit from the platter. On special occasions, the Maqai crew do a Lovo night
Meal plans are compulsory part of staying with us as we are so remote.
Maqai Beach Fiji Fusion Meal Plan is F$75 per day,
