Tuvununu is an off-the-beaten-track hostel on Fiji\'s northern island of Taveuni. Beware- it is very beautiful here. The lagoon out front is incredibly blue, the land glows with lush colours of pristine jungles, traditional Fijian farms and vibrant flower beds. It is photographers dream come true. We are surrounded by amazing waterfalls, incredible hiking, world-class diving and remote surf breaks! Tuvununu is all about eco-tourism adventures, village styles, and having lots of fun...
Tuvununu is the new budget adventure hostel for Taveuni and its beautiful surrounding islands. With a location close to the Taveuni Airport and just outside of the Matei Village, the Tuvununu base is the closest accom option to the famous Bouma Waterfalls and East Taveuni\'s eco-attractions. Qamea Island has some of Fiji\'s loveliest white sand beaches and our sister hostel, Maqai Beach, is always available for day trips or combo stays. Transfers between our two spots go everyday.
The famous reefs of the Taveuni area make Tuvununu a divers paradise. Dive trips and courses are available every day!
What makes Tuvununu so special is the wonderful, happy, friendly local staff, and the amazing food made with locally sourced fish and vege, and the interaction with traditional Fijian arts and crafts.
The staff really love to share their local area and their lifestyle with all the guests. The scene is set for interaction with traditional island life and culture and adventure. Make friends with the staff and you may experience Fiji beyond the Tourism facade- the real story!
The food is most often cooked with all local fruits and vege and seafood. Our cooks have a unique style and flavour that could found in some of Fiji\'s 5 star resorts, but at backpacker prices. Guests are often welcome to learn and/or be involved with the meal preparation and local cooking styles.
We also have a stunning little white sandy private island in the dolphin lagoon with exclusive access to the Tuvununu guests. Simply, naturally, beautifully Fiji style!
