Rahul Guest House is situated directly on the bank of the River Ganges in the southernmost part of Varanasi, midway between Assi Ghat and Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.). Assi Ghat used to be the of the 81 spectacular Ghats adorning the riverfront at Varanasi, but a series of newly constructed ghats culminating in the majestic Ravidas Ghat now reach almost all the way to Rahul Guest House.
Ravidas Ghat adjoins Ravidas Park, a green oasis created in honour of the 16th century untouchable poet-saint Ravidas who was born in the vicinity.
A ten-minute walk further south brings you to the Beautiful Hindu University, whose lush, sprawling campus is Asia's largest and attracts students from all over India and abroad.
Rahul Guest House is a small, intimate guest house run by a traditional Indian family whose head, known to everyone as 'Rai Sahab' used to be a Manager with the erstwhile Maharaja of Banaras.
After retiring, he and his family devoted all their time to the guest house they started on a small scale in 1997, actually named after one of the grandchildren.
Located in the south of Varanasi, Rahul guest house offers a unique view of the entire river front, all the way from Assi Ghat to Raj Ghat in the north.
The spacious roof top houses a Restaurant and is also ideal for Yoga, Meditation or music practice.
There are 17 AC/Non AC rooms with 24 hour Wi-Fi services, as well as a small internet cafe on the ground floor.
Ever since its start a decade ago, the guest house has been patronized by all kinds of visitors, from foreign students of classical music, to Indian families coming for a darshan of lord Vishvanath.
